Dayton/Cincinnati Area Reading Group

Discover the full depth and genius of Jane's work by participating in the JASNA CWO Dayton/Cincinnati area Reading Group. This casual, light-hearted society meets four times a year to discuss Miss Austen's work over tea and light refreshments. You'll gain insights into Jane's working process, learn about the deeper meanings and influences behind her work, and enjoy "the company of clever, well-informed people, who have a great deal of conversation."

Note: You don't need to be a member of JASNA to attend Reading Group meetings. If you're new to the group, it's a great place to visit and get to know us!

At this time, we are hoping to meet in person with an option for people to join via Zoom if they are not comfortable or not able to attend in person, but we will alert you to any possible changes to that plan as we figure things out.

The meetings are from 2:00pm to around 4:30pm. The first few minutes will be for people to get setup and greet each other and the discussion will begin at 2:30. Keep an eye on this page for further details for upcoming Reading Group meetings.

Reading Group Dates

This fall the Reading Group will be discussing Sense and Sensibility, which is broken up into three (3) volumes (volume 1 has 22 chapters, volumes 2-3 have 14 chapters each). If you have a version with continuous chapters, we will note those as well once we get into the second and third volumes. We plan to space out our discussions through two years for this book.
